We are pleased to announce that we were awarded $500,000 in NH tax credits to help us raise funds to finish our Harriman Hill Phase III development in Wolfeboro, which will provide 30 units of affordable housing. By purchasing some of our tax credits, your business can help us build Harriman Hill III. Tax credit donors get a NH state tax credit worth 75% of their donation, which can be used to reduce their NH Business Enterprise Tax (BET) or Business Profits Tax (BPT). If your business could afford to sponsor this project at $2,500, you may be able to give $20,000 for about the same out-of-pocket cost by leveraging these tax credits. If you’d like to learn how your business can be part of the solution to our workforce housing challenge, please contact: Carmen Lorentz [email protected] (603) 524-0747 x110. Bank of NH Grants $45,000 to LRCDThank you, Bank of New Hampshire, for this incredibly generous grant! “We are thrilled to support Lakes Region Community Developers,” said Tiffany Baert, Vice President – Marketing Officer at Bank of New Hampshire and LRCD Board Member. “Their mission aligns perfectly with our commitment to helping people access and maintain high-quality, affordable housing.” Check out the press release for more details. Gale School Construction Underway!Five long years after the Save Our Gale School Committee (SOG) moved the building from behind the Belmont Middle School to 60 Concord Street in Belmont, construction is finally underway! This winter, we secured $900,000 in additional grant funding, which closed the budget gap we’d been chasing for the past couple of years. This spring, we awarded the Gale School renovation contract to JH Spain of Concord through a competitive bid process. JH Spain got started at the end of June. Over the next six weeks, they will be focused on site work, demolition, and removal of asbestos and lead paint while we continue working to close on the larger financing package. LRCD plans to restore the 1894 Gale School according to state and federal historic preservation standards. When renovations are complete, the Boys & Girls Club of Central and Northern New Hampshire will operate a childcare center on the first floor and Lakes Region Community Services will have a new program center on the second floor where they will offer classes and programming for all ages.
