Healthy Housing Grant from Rural LISC

LRCD is pleased to announce that we were awarded an $18,000 Healthy Housing grant by Rural LISC through a competitive grant process.
 
Rural LISC partners with more than 140 rural community-based organizations across the nation, helping them identify challenges and opportunities and delivering the most appropriate support to meet local needs. LRCD has been a Rural LISC partner for well over a decade.
 
Since 2015, Rural LISC has invested more than $3.8 million in healthy housing by providing 240 grants to 63 community-based partners across rural America. LRCD has benefited from these healthy grants since the program began.
 
This most recent grant will support the continued efforts of our asset management team to ensure that our older rental properties in the City of Laconia, NH meet healthy housing standards. Our Laconia portfolio includes 29 multi-family buildings that are between 50 to 120 years old, as well as 12 multi-family structures built since 1994.
 
We are engaged in a multi-year effort to obtain Lead Safe certificates for all the pre-1978 buildings, improve energy efficiency in all these older buildings, and replace carpet with low-VOC vinyl flooring in all buildings to improve indoor air quality.

Welcome New Board Member:
Tiffany Baert

We are happy to announce that Tiffany Baert has joined LRCD’s Board of Directors.

Tiffany is Vice President – Marketing Officer for Bank of New Hampshire. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the Marketing team in a variety of functions in support of the Bank’s strategic initiatives as they relate to the brand, customer experience, communication, public relations and advertising.

Tiffany joined Bank of New Hampshire in 2010 as the Marketing Administrator, and was promoted several times before stepping into her current position in 2021. She holds the top professional designation for bank marketers from the American Bankers Association, the Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) designation.
 
Tiffany holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Plymouth State University. She is also a graduate of the ABA Bank Marketing and Management School, the Northern New England School of Banking, Leadership Lakes Region and the UNH Next Level Leadership Consortium.
 
In addition to serving on LRCD’s Board, Tiffany is a member of the Marketing Advisory Committee for Plymouth Regional High School and has been a mentor for the Circle Program and a board member of the Campton Historical Society.
 
Tiffany resides in Campton, NH with her husband and two kids. She enjoys spending time on the lake and exploring all that New Hampshire has to offer. She is passionate about making positive change in the community and looks forward to contributing to the work of LRCD.

Faces of Affordable Housing:
Victoria Gilo

Victoria and her partner Joe moved to Ashland, NH from Rhode Island in 2018 to be closer to their daughter and granddaughter. 
 
When they first moved, they lived in an apartment on Main Street and loved the location, but didn't love the rent or climbing the stairs to their second floor home. And, although they always paid their rent on time, they weren’t feeling supported by their landlord.
 
So they were thrilled when they moved into LRCD's Ames Brook apartments in Ashland, where they not only feel supported, they themselves are a support to others as active members of the Ames Brook community. READ VICTORIA'S FULL STORY...
